LO2: Report (P2, M2, D2)

The evolution of media organisations in terms of globalisation and new technology has changed the market place prompting the diversification of the existing industries. This has been done through there being an increase on media production and the use of technology increasing. There is an increase in media use through the internet being more accessible for people and it being more popular to use, this has changed the market place for existing industry’s because they can now advertise their products online and reach a wider audience. The target audience for products is more accessible and easier to reach for companies, this is because of the global village theory being that everyone uses the internet and social media to access information meaning the world becomes a smaller place for everyone can reach each other easier. 

Large conglomerate companies such as Disney has evolved in the media sector to meet the changes required of converging media. This has been done through companies being more accessible for the audience and companies can do cross media production and promotion throughout their subsidiaries. Disney has used the evolution of media to their advantage for they have created subsidiaries such as Disney+ to stream their content online and to keep the profit in the company. They have also created many different social media pages dedicated to the content Disney produces and promotes, this means that they can reach their target audience easier and more efficiently. This shows how a conglomerate company has taken advantage of the opportunities that technology has provided for them, this has resulted in companies becoming more popular and more accessible for the audience. 

Some job roles that will be needed to create this app would be an app developer, app designer, coder, graphic designer, content editor, project manager, software engineers, mobile app developers, testing operator. These roles would be needed to develop the app and to manage the designs and features of the app, these job roles would be traditional job roles for this type of product because technology has enabled certain job roles to be minimised. The prosumers of the app would need to be able to check the apps development and be able to share their ideology’s, this would then allow them to feel comfortable with funding and purchasing the app. For this app they would need to be a project manager to make sure that the development of the app is what the client wants and is appealing for the audience.

LO4: Proposal for technology project

The idea for my product is for there to be a app where people can try clothing on through creating a digital replica of their body, the idea of this app will help to improve online shopping and make it more efficient for people to access that may have issues with body images or don't have the confidence to go shopping and try clothes on.  The converging sectors that will be included in the creation of this app will be ecomers  crossed with social media meaning it has computing and social media involved with the app.  This product will provide the users help with choosing their fashion items out.  The target audience for this app would be for any ages because anyone can further use the app for children, teenagers, adults or elder people. This app will allow anyone to enter their body details so that they can create a real life digital avatar of themselves, they can adjust the hair colour and style and can even upload a photo of themselves so the user can then see what clothing suits

LO5: Evaluation of Feedback

To improve my product I will be considering the feedback that I gathered from my presentation, this feedback includes the main points of me needing to add a favouriting feature, tagging items section, suggestion section from the liked items and a tagging link for the items. I was also advised to do research into software such as Unity and Blender to create the product, these was said to be suitable platforms to investigate.  The feedback I was given from my peers and Anne Doncaster has suggested to me that I need to change the colour palette that I have used and to suggest to add more forms of colour to the apps design. However, an issue that I may come across when doing this is I could possible push the app towards one gender, if this occurs it would cause issues with the app and the success it would have for it could be seen as too 'girly' or too 'boisterous.' To help avoid doing this I will be considering using the neutral colours such as orange so the app can appeal

LO3: Legal, ethical , social and moral issues are considered within a product (P1)

LEGAL ISSUES  The legal requirements applicable to my product proposal would be the copyright and data protection acts that will need to be highly considered. These laws will need to be considered the most for they affect the app and its users, if the legal requirements aren't followed it would result in the app and the company getting fined or the app having to be shut down. During the creation of my app, I will be considering the the legal issue of copyright, to avoid any issues with clothing brands included in the app, to avoid this issue I would be asking for permission to include their clothing items in the app. For example I would ask permission to use any form of their logos, images of their clothes, models and their brands name from their website or app or any social media pages they have. I would be using a model release form to gather permission from any models or companies I intend on including in the app to avoid any fines that could occur from not asking for permission
